Andy Warhol was born on 6th August 1928 and went on to become a leading figure in was was to be termed Pop Art.

He was shot in his studio on 3rd June 1968 by Valerie Solanas, the founder of the Society for Cutting Up Men (SCUM). Warhol was known for his oft used phrase "fifteen minutes of fame."
