Cary Grant was born in Bristol, England on 18th January 1904 as Archibald Alec Leach. By the end of his acting career he had been named the 'Second Greatest Male Star of All Time" of American cinema after Humphrey Bogart by the American Film Institute. Cary Grant, himself, was less impressed by his own fame citing "My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can."
In his twilight years he toured with a one man show called "A Conversation with Cary Grant." And what did he think of his acting career? He summed it by when he said "We have our factory, which is called a stage. We make a product, we colour it, we title it and we ship it out in cans."
