Evel Knievel was born Robert Craig Knievel on 17th October 1938 and became famous as an American motorcycle daredevil. He was dismissed from one of his first jobs when he made the earth mover he was working on do a motorbike type wheelie and the rest is history.

Hospitalized many times for a range of injuries he reflected before his death in 2007 "I did everything by the seat of my pants. That's why I got hurt so much."
