Geremi, whose full name is Geremi Sorele Njitap Fotso was born on 20th December in Paraguay but moved to Europe in 1997 at the age of 18 to pursue a footballing career.

He joined Newcastle United on 6th July 2007 and was made captain, but was stripped of this role when Kevin Keegan was appointed manager.
