Gustav Holst was born on 21st September 1874 was an English composer of operas, ballets, choral hymns and songs. He was originally born Gustav von Holst but dropped the von due to anti-German sentiment during WW1.

And as for fame and fortune, Holst quipped "Music-making as a means of getting money is hell”. He died on 25th May 1934 of complications following stomach surgery.
