Ian Botham was born on 24th November 1955 and went on to become an England Test cricketer who achieved the record of taking the highest number of wickets by any England bowler.

He was promoted to England captain however this marked the beginning of a loss of form. Commenting on his decision to quit, Botham commented "Retiring for good wasn't difficult. I knew at the time it was right. I was no longer capable of achieving the standards I'd set myself and there was no light at the end of the tunnel."

He is currently a cricket commentator.
