Hi! We are updating this every week, there wasn’t a penny list for March 24th (only some markdowns), but we are hoping there will be one for next week. Dollar General always has weekly clearance deals, however what rings up as a penny at one store may not be a penny at another, since it varies by location.

The same thing happened to me at several stores I don’t believe this is something they’re allowing to happen anymore

I have tried to do this several times IT DOES NOT WORK!! items may scan as a penny or zero cents in the app but when the employee scan the items they are full price or not in stock. THIS IS NOT A TRUE DEAL! I will give you all the benefit maybe it did work at one time but it’s no longer working 💲💸🥺🥺

Hi! Dollar General penny items tags are not labeled as such, but they are regular tags marked down to $0.01. The tags may also have colored symbols like stars, dots, or squares, which can be yellow, brown, grey, or other colors.

What about Family Dollars cause they literally won’t sale me the items that ring for 1cent?

I’m from Baltimore Md and every time I take my penny items to the register I am told that they are not available for sale…smh I truly believe the workers are keeping them for themselves…. FYI: Different locations have done this

You’re absolutely correct – it should be exactly as the company policy says. But unfortunately, seems like there are locations where the policy isn’t honored the way it’s supposed to. Which should of course be reported.

SO many of those around here too. Another problem is so many stores around me have trouble keeping a manager. I worked another store one time and a lady came in and bought well over $100 in penny items because that store had poor management.

No it is not up to the cashier whether they sell them or not. Company policy says that they have to sell them to you and then if there are any left on the shelf they are to be pulled. Even my manager doesn’t refuse to sell penny items.

The one I am near don’t pull anything for being lazy

When the manager is made aware of the items being pennied they’re supposed to pull them. Company policy. If they missed an item or more and you catch it then yes they have to sell it to you but they are then supposed to pull any left from the shelf.

If you go into the dollar general app you can find the store’s policy’s and it clearly states that if a customer finds a penny item the employee is supposed to sell it to the customer. The employee can’t or at least shouldn’t deny you sale because of item being a penny . If you show them the policy and what it clearly states and they still do t sell the item I would then contact corporate with the name of the worker and the store at which denied you services.

Wow im sorry to hear that. That really sucks. Sounds like its a bs excuse someone made up like a manager that can work float at different ones in ur area because they want it for themselves. Thats what i personally believe. They are always doing crooked stuff in these big stores. Ive seen plenty of videos online where something really good is marked down low low and the person will record them taking it off the shelves and into the back for themselves. Even recording one worker showing another and them whispering and then taking it to the back. Smh i wish they get in trouble for it.

Hi there! So basically, you go through the store, find the items on the list in this post, and scan them with your DG app. If they show up for $0.01, you’re in luck! If not, that means your store didn’t add it to their penny list. It will vary by store.

Man! I just saw this post/pic today because unfortunately, we were putting all our hurricane shutters up and setting up for a safety room in our house while Milton headed our way. If it weren’t for that, I’d have gone looking for every LuziAnne box in town. Lol
