John Hartson was born on 5th April 1975 in Swansea and played as a football striker, retiring in 2008 after being released by West Bromwich.

He also played for the Welsh national team as well as having spells with Luton, Arsenal, West Ham, Wimbledon, Coventry and Celtic.

Hartson joined Setanta Sports as a pundit for the 2008–09 season, as part of the broadcaster's coverage of the Scottish Premier League, which, of course, ended in tears.
