Spirit Board

The Spirit Board is a device used in spiritualism to seek a message from the spirits. During each Spirit Board séance each member of the circle places a finger on the planchette at the centre of the Spirit Board and asks for a message from the spirits.

The pointer then moves around the Spirit Board, spelling out answers to the questions, letter by letter. Spiritualists believe that the communications obtained in this manner are provided by deceased spirit beings anxious to maintain contact with the world of the living.
