Terrence Steven "Steve" McQueen was born on March 24th, 1930. Steve McQueen first tasted fame in the role of Josh Randall in the new TV series Wanted: Dead or Alive. He went on to star in a number of films and after appearing in the 1974 film The Towering Inferno, he became the highest paid movie star in the world.

Although best known as an actor, Steve McQueen also had a great love of cars and racing and in 1999, was posthumously inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. He once commented about his love of this sport; "Racing is life... everything before and after is just waiting." .Steve McQueen died at the age of 50 in 1980 following an operation for stomach cancer.
