Titta Ruffo was actually born Ruffo Titta but reversed his name for the stage and was a famous Italian opera singer who was born in June 1877 and died in July 1953.

During his life he recorded over one hundred and thirty records. He retired in 1931 and later returned to Italy where he was later arrested for opposing the fascist regime there.
